Out of all the UK media outlets talking about the upcoming documentary on Jimmy Saville, this is the first person I’ve seen not try to brush it off as “a man with a character” or “silly stories”.

louis theroux is a pretty fantastic person. jimmy saville, however, is vile.

I’m gonna wait until I see some evidence, rather than condemn the man for what he is alleged to do

The allegations have been going on for years though- but he was always protected because he was this media personality, and because he did x he couldn’t possibly do y.

Not to mention that, when it comes to sexual assault, it’s vastly under-reported and rarely taken seriously when it is. As a society we’re quick to believe someone’s a murderer, but to believe someone’s sexually assaulted another person we brush it off, immediately cite “lack of evidence” and tell the victims to think of their abuser and how they’re going to ruin that person’s life or legacy.

The Pakistani Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday that members of the transgender community are entitled to every right enjoyed by other citizens.

Transsexuals and eunuchs have finally won recognition following some three years of interest shown by the Supreme Court. On Tuesday, a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry disposed of the case and ruled that eunuchs were entitled to all the rights guaranteed in the Constitution to all citizens including the right of inheritance.

The apex court order said that eunuchs should not be deprived of their legitimate rights — particularly the right of inheritance of all movable and immovable properties and the right to adopt any profession.

The court directed that the judgment be forwarded to the chief secretaries, as well as the inspectors general of all provinces, for their information and to ensure adherence of their fundamental rights.

The issue had surfaced back in 2009 after police arrested some eunuchs by raiding a party in Taxila.

Dr Mohammad Aslam Khaki, an Islamic jurist and human rights activist, stood up for their rights upon discovery that not a single human rights group or non-governmental organisation (NGO) was working for the rights of this community in the country.

Consequently, Dr Khaki had filed a petition seeking the establishment of a commission to safeguard the rights of the transgender community.

He contended that these people were denied the right of inheritance and other fundamental rights that citizens of Pakistan enjoy.

While concluding the proceedings, the bench appreciated the appointment of focal persons among the eunuch community in all the provinces to represent the community and help address issues being faced by them.

The chief justice also directed the interior secretary and provincial police officers (PPO) to appoint a focal person in every district and tehsil to look after security-related issues of the neglected community.

In addition, the court directed all federal and provincial health and education secretaries and the chief commissioner of Islamabad to coordinate with the representatives of the transgender community in order to provide free healthcare and education to them.

In November last year, the court directed the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to speed up the process of issuing CNICs to eunuchs and later directed the Election Commission to register eunuchs as voters as well.

When you go crazy and can’t tell where reality begins and were your delusions end you know you have died fully on the inside as well, because little black girls with little blacks scars and little black tear stained cheeks with little black hands reaching up to satisfying black hearts and white dick and who desperately try to hold onto the shattered pieces of the stereotypical broken black family knows that she is no longer a little black girl, and never has been.

Little black girls in strong black bodies who finally turn to themselves for love, who look within to heal, who learn to be assertive black bitches and aren’t scared of this racist, sexist society. She will learn that her little black soul is beautiful, that she is a force not to be trifled with. There is a vast difference between attacking feminism because one is a mens rights activist, and speaking against feminism and feminist movements and groups as an individual whose voice deserves to and must be heard.

Until feminism becomes self critical, its still gonna just be wet dreaming of intersectionallity while draping itself in flower crowns that reek of exclusion and privilege.

This dude ended up apologizing for being “racist towards white people” even though he made an entirely valid point— which is that he was getting paid to be there and rap and he takes his music seriously. This is not to say that PSY doesn’t, but that his worldwide popularity comes from his being shoehorned into an acceptable “Asian clown role”, that Tiger JK refuses to fill.

Racialicious has a really good article about why PSY has made it big in the west where so many other acts have failed to break through.

Well, that’s not really a side note, actually. Why is that we can think of maybe only 3 East Asian male celebrities in the mainstream who are celebrated for their masculinity or attractiveness? I only seem to see it mentioned in contexts of near extreme fetishization or wanting to be attached more to the culture.
