Ehlers merged those images and came up with a product she called Rapex. It resembles a tube, with barbs inside. The woman inserts it like a tampon, with an applicator, and any man who tries to rape the woman impales himself on the barbs and must go to an emergency room to have the Rapex removed. When critics complained that it was a medieval punishment, Ehlers replied tersely, “A medieval device for a medieval deed.”  - Half the Sky, Nicholas Kristof  i will always love this, i only wish it had deadly venom in the barbs too Rape =/= death.  Hopefully, the idea is that they go to the hospital, get it taken out, and then get arrested.  I dont agree with the death penalty, but in my opinion it would be reasonable self defence. I would not trust that a man whose penis i had just shredded wouldn’t hurt me, so at least some kind of tranquillizer would be sensible. but poison would work too.
