Genderqueeries has a huge list of gender neutral titles for parents, relatives, spouses, everything. Here’s an excerpt:

Girlfriend/Boyfriend (non-serious relationship)

  • Date; neutral, the person you are dating.
  • Lover; neutral, implies sexual relationship.
  • Boifriend; queer, boi is a particular gender identity.
  • Girlboyfriend; queer, for bigender or androgynous people, or perhaps binary trans people.
  • Boygirlfriend; queer, for bigender or androgynous people, or perhaps binary trans people.
  • Paramour; neutral, someone you are having a sexual relationship with.
  • Bothfriend; queer, for bigender or androgynous people, or perhaps binary trans people.
  • Genderfriend; queer, based on boyfriend and girlfriend.
  • Sweetie; neutral, slightly cheesy.
  • Sweetheart; neutral, cheesy or old-fashioned.

*_______* help i really really really like sibster (and sib) hmmmmm maybe i should talk to my sisters about this… when i get home…

they don’t really have any good alternatives for daughter/son but i think i’m just gonna get my parents to call me their ‘oldest’ when they talk about me to other people? like they already say “my oldest _______” to differentiate me from my sisters so it isn’t a big jump to just have them drop the last word and i think that it’s a change they’d be able to adjust to easily
